Aubrey Decker
Aubrie is a multi-disciplined artist based out of Ohio. Self taught, she is in a continual state of learning and exploration. The majority of Aubrie’s art, until recently, has been textiles, repurposing materials in everything she makes. Now painting with acrylic, oils, and oil pastels, Aubrie uses vintage hymnal collage, gold leafing and sometimes incorporates her love of textiles by adding vintage thread embroidery and glass beads for added texture and interest.
Aubrie’s main message in her works reflect something she has experienced and seen time and time again. “The old, forgotten, and even the broken things of this life can be made into something profoundly beautiful.”
Katherine Carney
Katherine Carney truly lives and loves coastal life! Residing in the Annapolis area for over 35 years, she is now settled on the Wye River in Queenstown, MD.
We believe everything happens for a reason and there are no coincidences. While on vacation Katherine and her husband stopped in the gallery for a look.
Her larger-than-life personality, love of all things coastal and her obvious passion and talent made it impossible for us to pass up an opportunity to have her as one of our artists. To later find out she is best known for her coastal paintings it came as no surprise she is also a five time award winning painter.
Katherine is a realist with an impressionistic view. Katherine’s thoughts, “More suggestion and fresh perspective.”
Kim Macalister
Kim Macalister, the creative force behind Macalister's Creations, has dedicated her
life to the art of pastels. Following in her paternal grandmother's passion for
pastel portrait paintings, Kim began her own journey in this medium, beginning
with lessons from the same teacher at the age of eight. With a passion for
capturing the essence of her subjects, Kim's work is known for its extraordinary detail and emotional depth.
Kim has also pursued portrait painting, but, in addition, she has ventured into an array of subject matter ranging from nature and other outdoor scenes to still life.
Based in Sarasota, FL, Kim draws inspiration from the natural beauty of her surroundings
and her love for the pastel medium.
Mark Brown
Mark Brown's photography is energized from his love of God’s beautiful creation. For the past 30 years as an oil painter, Mark has honed his artistic sensibilities, which he now brings to the digital side of imagery with photography.
Each time Mark embarks on a new adventure, he is searching for moments in time that excite the senses; moments that reveal the mystery and unexpected delights of wildlife, and the fleeting colors and light on the landscape.
“One of the great pleasures of photography is having the opportunity to explore the wild; to breathe the fresh air; to feel the sunlight; to work the body, all in pursuit of that elusive shot that will wow you deep on the inside.”
Perry James
Perry James is a native Floridian with a lifelong love of photography. The abundance of wetlands, woodlands, shoreline and wildlife in the area provides him with ample opportunities to pursue his passion.
As a child, he loved camping, horseback riding, fishing and swimming with friends and family. That is where James discovered his deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. James' photography collection includes a plethora of styles and scenes, textures, shadows and highlights.
“I’m not trying to document the scene. I want its essence! It’s more about the feeling and less about the details. That's what I'm trying to convey to the viewer, the essence of nature.”
Qing Wang
Qing grew up under the influence of oriental culture and art, but she took a fancy to sketching and Western Art at a young age.
In 2006 Qing started work for 3 galleries in China as a
full-time artist. During that time her artwork was sold in Australia, Korea,
Russia, Arabia, and the US.
Qing immigrated to the US in 2009 and stopped painting for some time to raise her son. She moved around a bit, but never gave up on her dream of being an artist. Thankfully, she picked up her brushes again in 2016!
For the past 5 years Qing has worked as a full-time artist
and has received many awards from local art exhibitions and international art
competitions.
This Month's Featured Artist
Sandra Klim
Sandra Klim’s work seamlessly weaves together abstraction and realism, both literally and artistically. Her signature “woven paintings” begin as two fully realized canvases, which she meticulously slices into strips and then interlaces onto a third surface. The result is a richly layered, textured composition that is distinctly her own.
Before devoting herself entirely to painting, Klim spent more than 17 years as Editor-in-Chief of Going Places, a travel magazine where she received multiple awards for both writing and photography.
Her upcoming exhibition, opening September 6 at Number 33 Gallery, highlights her unique fusion of style, color, and mixed media—an artistic voice that continues to captivate and inspire.
Stephanie Linden
Stephanie Linden’s journey as an artist reflects her deep connection to nature and her passion for personal transformation. Born in Louisville, KY, and raised in the Midwest, her early years were a blend of nature, science, and art. It wasn’t until her 40s and early 50s, while balancing the demands of her career as a family physician, that she began to pursue art more seriously. Stephanie started exhibiting her work in 2019 and left her medical practice in 2023 to devote herself to art full-time.
In 2021, she undertook formal artistic education at the Milan Institute of Art, focusing on refining her self-taught skills and mastering the use of layered acrylics and rich oils.
Stephanie Linden's aim is to continue elevating her craft, inspiring others, and bringing her vibrant vision to the world. Through her art, she seeks to challenge, heal, and inspire, inviting viewers to embark on their transformative journeys.
Suzanne Esposito
A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in teaching art seemed like the right path for Suzanne. However, her love for oil painting and the ocean trumped her desire to teach and she moved to Atlantic City, NJ where she could combine her love of the ocean and painting.
“When I was 18, I discovered the miracle of painting and creating with oil paints. All of my life my desire has been to be an artist and capture the beauty of the water in hopes to convey the gratitude I feel when I’m surrounded by nature.”
Suzanne paints in thin layers so she can get a three-dimensional result. Because of this, her paintings take a bit of time as the oil needs to completely dry before adding another level. A full-time Venice resident, Suzannes
paintings are in nearly every state and many countries. “I was a partner in an
art gallery at one time and sold to people from all over the world.”
Thomas Krause
Thomas Krause is one of Florida’s finest marine and wildlife artists. Born in Mt. Clements, Michigan, Tom has been a resident of Florida since 1979. He graduated at Ringling School of Art and Design, in Sarasota, Florida. As a student, he was featured in the Best of Ringling shows.
He has also appeared locally in magazines and newspaper articles and has been featured on regional television for his unique artwork. You can find his work featured at Tampa International Airport and Raymond James Stadium.
His amazing ability to light his subject material underwater, with refracted light, is breathtaking. Tom's
unique skill comes from having spent a lot of his time underwater, in the Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean waters. As for today, Tom continually travels North America to satisfy his quest for new subject material, as painting has become his life’s most important journey.
